Today I talked to a friend at MIT who needed shipping advice.
Once you graduate and start a new life, one quickly forgets how valuable all that logistics experience actually is.
So in order to contribute to our collective memory (and my own fragile memory) I am listing a couple of useful website for those who are leaving MIT. It mostly applies to those going to Chile.
Shipping:
I used http://www.iqglobal.com/ and was very happy. It is very straightforward and you do everything online. They come pick it up at your place.
For those going to Chile you will need to hire someone to do all the paper work at Valparaiso.
Pacific Anchor Line "Chile" (www.pal.cl)
And then for getting your stuff from Valparaiso to Santiago you can use Servicios Portuarios del Pacifico. They don't have a website but you can reach them at 02-7534080 and 07-7958579.
Again all of them were excellent.
