Todays lecture in New Enterprise (15.390) class was on raising capital. Ken Zolot was as usual smart and funny while making his point about what exactly does an entrepreneur go through to raise funds. Key points -
if you need less than $1 million - borrow from friends/family, credit cards, your savings, explore special funds for minorities etc.
1M-5M - Early stage VC
5M-20M - Late stage VC
Greater than 20M - IPO, Investment bank
Atlas Ventures, Eric Hjerpe, was the guest lecturer. His lecture focused more on the VC side
