How to See & Be Seen in Tanzania

As our team anticipated arrival in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, we were struck by a staggering statistic: 

Road traffic injury (RTI) is the number one cause of death for children in Africa ages five and over, above HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. 

The non-profit organization our team is working with-- See and Be Seen-- aims to reduce the incidence of roadside traffic injury (RTI) through reflector-enhanced schoolbags.  

In addition to our goal of helping distribute reflector-enhanced backpacks among the local population, our G-Lab group will also be wearing our See & Be Seen bags across Dar Es Salaam.  In any area with poorly lit roads and occasionally questionable infrastructure, we hope to utilize See & Be Seen to stay safe ourselves!  Our team looks forward to an exciting month ahead in Tanzania, filled with work among the locals (we'll try to brush up on our swahili) and hopefully a trip to Zanzibar!  Many more updates to come...
