Our 'soft-launch' of one week of Preterm is over and Orientation starts tomorrow. Academically, preterm was a mix depending on what people had studied before and how much they remembered. Some classes were too fast, others were a bit slow.
Some people stopped going after the first couple of sessions and many relegated themselves to the overflow rooms where they could eat, drink and have their laptops out. For me it was getting used to thinking again in 'perfect' worlds rather than practical applications in reality - although I imagine that will come later in class discussions.
It was a chance to get used to sitting in class all day, thinking academically and of course a great opportunity to meet classmates - everyday I met new people I hadn't seen before and every evening there were multitudes of activities to choose from.
This weekend has been equally full of opportunities - shopping, sailing, seeing new parts of Boston, a festival, numerous bars, a beach trip, catching up on sleep, doing laundry, reading the case studies for orientation - it's been good practice in prioritising!
Tomorrow Orientation starts 8.30 sharp and we find out which cohort we are in and which 60 classmates we will share the Core experience with.
