My name is Lucas (Luke) Behnke, and I am a member of the MIT Sloan class of 2011. I am originally from Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. I graduated for the University of Wisconsin - Madison (go Badgers!) where I majored in Mechanical Engineering and minored in business. I also minored in attending football games, having fun, and enjoying life. After school, I moved to San Francisco, CA and fell in love with the city. I spent 5 years there working as a mechanical engineer for defense contractor L-3 Communications in the Electron Devices Division (manufacturing high power radio frequency amplifiers), and later became project engineer, then project manager.
I come to Sloan looking to make a career change. I will be pursuing the Entrepreneurship and Innovation certificate, and hope to meet tons of amazing people and learn a lot about the big picture in starting a business. After school, I hope to work for a start-up, and eventually start up something of my own. The VC field is also a future interest. But then again, this all could change tomorrow!
