MIT Sloan not only has an amazing faculty but also has amazing students. A lot of the learning process here is based on how you relate to your peers inside and outside the class. Your peers will be the ones that will make you explore different things, go beyond, have a different point of view, question your beliefs and inspire you.
The example I want to share is from a good friend of mine who after putting hundreds of weekly hours during years for a famous investment bank, decided to join MIT Sloan and explore other interests he had. Here he created a successful study tour program sponsored by the school that gathered over 25 students to understand better the problem of education in Brazil. This was the beginning of his new life.
Today, he is the co-founder of Geekie – the first Brazilian software company with the goal to change how Brazilians learn school content. He was able to gather an amazing and bright local team to help the country’s education system.
Independently of the origin or background, that is how people evolve around here. That is the kind of inspiration you will get.
Cheers,
Tiago
