Thanksgiving is a typical U.S. holiday, when everyone travels across the country to meet his or her family. But what about international students?...
Don’t worry! You’ll find several ‘events’ during this period with people that cannot go back to South America, Africa, Europe, Asia or Oceania for only four days. This year students organized several activities and trips from having an alternative Thanksgiving dinner to travelling to Aruba or Vermont. Besides relaxing from classes, this is was an excellent time to reinforce the broader Sloan community since you can end up only connecting with your class and your core team because of the super workload you have…
This year, most of the Latin Americans decided to go skiing at Killington/Vermont. Twenty+ people, with and without experience, wanted to feel cold, see the snow, throw themselves down an icy mountain and party all night long (fortunately not every night).
Yes, it was a great experience. Just a tip: trying to snowboard for the first time by trial and error and observing people really hurts, so I suggest paying a beginner’s class: it is really worth it!
Cheers,
