Hi everybody,
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I have gotten a few emails on interviews and would like to share some quick suggestions on this blog. I would first like to congratulate everyone who got interviews. The interview is the opportunity to give your application color. The admission committee is very interested in learning more about you and you should concentrate on why you would be a good fit for the program. Make sure you highlight your story (why finance and mit), accomplishments at work/school and outside of school, long term career goals, and interests.
Like everyone still in school, we have our finals coming up as well. Some of my favorite classes this semester were Advanced Corporate Finance and Investments. In both courses, we used case studies as our main learning tool. I really enjoyed the team aspect of the case work and the in class discussions after. I would also like to point out that we have an MFin chat session this Thursday (12/9) at 10am EST if anyone is interested. Feel free to send me an email jcheung at mit dot edu.
Best of luck on finals and interviews,
James
