Meet the bloggers
Michelle Choate
Michelle Choate is a writer at heart and — fortunately for her — by profession. But just what does that mean for MIT Sloan? As senior associate director of communication, she creates and oversees all projects dependent on the strategic arrangement of words (e.g., website, brochure, and newsletter copy; alumni magazine features; marketing pieces; and now, this blog.) She’s involved in the production of nearly all of the School’s publications and spends a good deal of her time interviewing students, faculty, and alumni. We think she’s in a pretty good position to offer insights and reportage on the goings on at MIT Sloan, but you’ll have to be the judge of that.
What else is there to say about this neophyte blogger? She loves German Shepherds, George Clooney, and “Casablanca.” She’s not tall, but makes up for that by using big words. And unlike her department mates, she is not quite addicted to Coke Zero — but $100 Grand bars are another story. To discuss chocolate, Clooney, or anything else that strikes your fancy, e-mail her at choate@mit.edu.
Scott Rolph
Scott Rolph is a tweener. No, he's not 12, though he might like a second chance at the succeeding years. He straddles several displines in his role as associate director of communication. He manages the Web team but he's also involved in content development. You can read his writing on the website, hear him in MIT Sloan Podcast interviews, and certainly contact him incessantly if you encounter any issues on the website. Now, you can read his entries on the blog.
Scott has a gaggle of kids at home, delusions about his fading athletic prowess, and an unhealthy affinity for Coke Zero. He loves history, the Red Sox, and the Patriots. Now fully ensconced at MIT Sloan, he boasts a history of interesting, sometimes bizarre jobs, including a stint as host and regular guest on the acclaimed Boston cable TV show Reporter's Rendezvous. Please contact him incessantly by e-mailing him at srolph@mit.edu.
